What copyrights must be observed in digital teaching, e.g. in video conferences?

Excerpts from the "Handreichung Urheberrechte Digitale Lehre vom 27.4.2020" (see appendix)

1. protect the exchange of teaching content

Content that is transferred and/or exchanged between lecturers and students in the context of courses is intended exclusively for use in the respective seminars. Any further use and/or publication is not permitted. They may not be downloaded, stored, duplicated or published. Content of courses that are based on personal, artistic interaction and that are not accessible to the university public even in the regular operation of the khb are subject to special protection under personal law, which excludes the possibility that this content is made accessible to persons or media that are not involved in the respective course. This requirement for protection applies equally to all participants - teachers and students.

Exceptions require the consent of all participants and especially the respective authors and must be specified and documented in writing.

5. principles for digital teaching

The data provided and transferred by the respective teachers for online teaching is only to be used for internal university use. They are intended exclusively for the group of students participating in the respective course. Under no circumstances may the data be published or passed on to third parties without the express written consent of the respective lecturer. The use of the data is the sole responsibility of the lecturers and participants of the respective course at the Weissensee School of Art Berlin.
All participants - teachers and students alike - are strongly recommended to mark the texts and other materials they provide with a note:

"Only for internal use within the university within the framework of the teaching/events/seminars ...... in summer semester 2020 at the khb. Any other use or distribution is not permitted.

Downloading and saving the material used for teaching in the summer semester 2020 is - as in other semesters - only permitted temporarily in the summer semester 2020.
The only exception: the respective rights holders (the students, participants, etc.) have given their written permission to use the material.
