A "playlist" is a collection of any videos, no matter who uploaded them. The playlist itself belongs to only one person at a time and can only be curated by that person. A playlist can be private or public.

To differentiate: "Channels" are tied to individual accounts. Each person can create multiple channels and upload videos to them. However, they cannot upload to a channel that belongs to someone else.
